8813849.gifDangerous Curves is the first book written by Pamela Britton in a series revolving around the world of NASCAR, today's fastest growing sport.

FBI Agent CeCe Blackwell is more than a little irked when she is pulled off of her current undercover case to investigate the death of Randy Newell, six-time NASCAR Champion. The catch: Blain Sanders, team owner and an old crush that CeCe would rather not remember. Sparks fly as CeCe is forced to work on the case with Blain.

While it has been determined that the explosion that killed Randy was a result of his car hitting the wall, Blain thinks that there was foul play involved as the explosion happened a split second before the impact. And let's not forget the note claiming responsibility for the accident that was sent prior to the incident.

As Blain loses his sponsor due to the bad press surrounding the case and his license is pulled by NASCAR for the safety of the other teams and fans, he is struck by CeCe's loyalty and strength as she becomes his biggest advocate. And as much as she fights it, CeCe finds it hard to resist Blain's "nice-guy" ways as both are thrown into the midst of a full-out investigation and two attempts on CeCe's life.

After CeCe is suspended from her position due to her emotional, blabber-mouth ways, she starts piecing together evidence and finds that the suspect is the relative of another driver. CeCe is paralyzed during the culmination of preventing another attack and returns back home after she finds herself dealing with not only her own depression, but with Blain's guilt as well. After returning home, she has a few moments of revelation and a call from Lance Cooper, flirtatious comedian and Blain's current driver; she realizes that her reservations about Blain were unfounded.

Pamela Britton has perfectly mixed the atmosphere of the NASCAR world with an intriguing mystery and a steamy romance. In Lance Cooper's character, she has also managed to capture the humorous personalities and antics of today's NASCAR personalities, a la Michael Waltrip and Kenny Wallace. The result: an enjoyable read for those who love romance novels and a can't-put-it-down book for my fellow NASCAR junkies.
