OK...so, I read the title of the book, and I'm thinking "What the hell....?" So, I open the cover and begin reading. The entire prologue is devoted to Elle's story about the demise of her long-time lover: the pink, pearl bunny vibrator with which she has forged a 10-year relationship. "OK, you've got my attention. I'm listening." Suddenly, the heavens open up and a mystical ray of sunlight shines down on me: "Aaah....well, that explains the off-the-wall title."

Elle Sheffield has risen above the stigma surrounding her childhood and is now a life coach who is happy with her career and the path her life has taken. Or is she? After her beloved Mr. Bunny goes on the blink and her business and finances start falling apart, Elle finds herself looking to her friends and past acquaintances to revive her existence. But there's a problem..she can't afford to buy a new vibrator. What's a woman to do? Get laid, of course.

The story takes us through Elle's path of realizing that her life is one big lie as she cannot seem to conquer her own problems. But wait...isn't that her job? Through her crisis, Elle learns to stand up for herself and learns how to find happiness through the least expected source...her own students. Oh, and she finally gets a replacement. Two, in fact.

While this book isn't the typical title that I would choose for myself (I typically don't get into empowering, contemporary, chick-lit), I half-enjoyed reading this book. I could easily relate to Elle's bitchy attitude and enjoyed watching her tell off those who deserve it. Throw in the witty, and sometimes downright funny, dialogue of today's modern woman, and Kathleen O'Reilly has created an entertaining novel, even for those who don't frequent the chick-lit genre.
