Business starts to pick up when the rape of a call girl is dumped into Bay Tanner's lap. Add to that the reappearance of Miss Addie's brother, who has suddenly and mysteriously reappeared after 20 years, and things start getting busy for Bay and her partner, Erik.
While trying to untangle the current cases, Bay finds out that the rape suspect has been murdered and his body has washed ashore. Or has it? Suddenly, things become more tangled as Bay finds out that the rape suspect is an imposter, Miss Addie's Brother is somehow involved in the whole mess, and nobody is who they appear to be.
While I'm not typically a fan of the Mystery/Suspense genre, this book has reminded me of why. The story was well written with a smooth, whodunit plot, however I wasn't kept on the edge of my seat, as I would expect from a good mystery, and had some trouble keeping focused on the story at hand. I tend to measure a story by its ability to make me completely unaware of my surroundings, but after every 2 pages of reading, I found myself staring at the television with the book lying on my lap, forgotten. If your a fan of mysteries, I say buy the book, you'll probably like it, but for me......it just wasn't my cup of tea.
