Dead Man’s Image: Edna Curry
Paul Menns’s quiet life is shattered when he reads the local paper and discovers his picture on the front page. He discovers further that the dead man’s name is his own. Now, wanted as a murder suspect and accused of killing a man with a description matching his own, he calls a private investigator, named Lacey Summers to help solve the mystery. However, he did not reckon on falling in love with the beautiful P.I.
An attractive cover image and the promise of an intriguing plot hooked me from the start. The protagonist’s dilemma keeps the reader interested enough to finish the book and for the truth to be revealed. The sexual tension is apparent right from the start as the author leads you down the path to the climax of the crime and the resulting relationship between Menns’s and Summer’s.
The story of the main character’s history reveals the shame of a young girl and the consequences that followed, which adds to the tension of the situation. Edna Curry has a prolific imagination and a talent for including surprise facts into the storyline. The love scene between Paul and Stacey are few but sufficient for the whole plot, so Dead Man’s Image is more for readers who enjoy mystery and suspense. Therefore, overall the book deals with tension and builds up in a romantic and fascinating way.
If you are looking to read a good suspense book in your spare time, then Dead Man’s Image is the one for you. A must read.
