Tyler Blake isn't prepared for life in the big city. She goes to New York to pursue an acting career but gets caught up in the dazzling world of the entertainment industry. She constantly drifts from her dreams of becoming an actress, jumping from one disastrous relationship to the next, like a rat from a sinking ship. Finally finding "the one" in producer Brian McCall, turns a dream into a nightmare. Unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel, she decides she wont lay down and go quietly.
The cast is dynamic and dysfunctional; the main character is unlikable at best. The best I could muster for her was apathy (I need to be able to like the main character even if it’s the bad guy). Tyler is a snooty, conniving rich bitch. While the storyline moves along at a quick pace the main plot is murky/polluted. I'm not sure if this was a cautionary tale or some kind moral statement "Men don't beat your women." I used plural because everyone seems to have at least two (men or women). The author can write a story but I didn't like it. It aggravated me to have to read about this woman being a punching bag over and over.
Overall it's a book I didn't like, but it's a well-written story with dynamic characters and is fast-paced. If this sounds like the book for you go for it. I wont be rereading this.
