Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science: Jeff Meldrum

Sasquatch: Legend Meets ScienceDo you remember that phony home movie from the late sixties of the guy in the ape suit that was touted as a "live film capture of Big Foot"? What if that footage was reviewed by modern day specialists? ...and what if?

Yeah, what if? Working with not so much modern day forensics as much as modern day analysis of that film and plaster casts from the Pacific Northwest, this author puts together much, much more than a "What if..." presentation. ...and he brings in some interesting disciplines to bounce a few ideas around with.

...Disney animators in to evaluate the film? ...and a cop who specializes in human and simian footprints to look the casts? How about the kinesiology people on gait and movement. ...or the costume specialist to look at how the musculature flows in the film. ...that phony film. ...or not.

I've seen that film, both back then and not all that long ago (on a TV show that really did a no-information hatchet job on the entire concept of Yeti and his North American cousins) and I've been in the camp that says, "Billy Joe Bob and his buddies were funnin' us." I can't say that after reading this book. No, I haven't put my tin foil hat back on, but I'll put myself in the group saying "Something is wandering around out there."

Yep, folks, this one is for those curious about why there are still books being written about a film made back in 1967. Definitely an interesting way to spend the evening...
