Chantal Bernard, more commonly known as her alter ego ‘Tal’, has gone off to find her brother Andre. Tal had sworn she would never trust any man before, not even those who work with her. Although, when she meets the tall, dark, and mysterious tracker who is willing to help her find her brother, her feelings begin to betray her...
Sim Kavanagh had a tough life growing up. His mother was a prostitute, who went from yelling and screaming to coddling him at the flip of a switch. Although, it was more often the former than the latter. It was no surprise then, that he turned to crime after his mother passed. He swore that no woman would be worth more to him than a scrap of dirt on his boot, and he would continue to treat them as such. That is, until a job connects him to Tally, and his viewpoints begin to change, despite how he wants to feel...
I, myself, am not very fond of historical novels, but a close friend suggested it to me since I’m absolutely in love with anything wolf. I thought it was a very creative, well written book, although I couldn’t figure out what the plot exactly was until further in to the story. Yes, I knew they had to find Andre... but then what?
It kept me wondering, "What next? Will they be OK? Why is this? Did she, did he, did they?" I personally like books that keep you thinking about the characters through the whole book, so the fact that it did just that, kept me sticking with it despite the confusion about the plot.
An awesome, creative novel that may just have gotten me into reading historical novels. I hope to continue to read more of her books–Keep ‘em coming!
