Kelly Doyle wasn't just having a bad day. She was having a bad decade. Kelly is plagued by one disaster after another but is always willing to stand up and go on. She is strong willed and quick minded, a perfect match for Saber, a loud-mouthed but semi-well intentioned "man". That one word should explain all you need to know about him, although he is still likeable. The story revolves around a prophecy and a magical realm with wyverns and mekhadadak (a cross between a scarab and a spider, that eats living flesh) and scrying mirrors and many other wonderful things.
I love a good fantasy novel. I also love a good romance. Combine the two and I'm hooked. This fascinating and charming story does both exceedingly well. I was enthralled from first page to last by the witty and quirky characters and the imaginative and flowing story line.
