Tristan Lockwood has received word that his father and both brothers have died, and he must return to London to claim the now vacant title. Lady Simone Turnbridge, bastard daughter of a whore and some nobility, isn't like the rest of the peerage. She's quick-witted, outspoken, intelligent, and an excellent swordswoman. She's having her season in order to get her horse, but has no interest in becoming some man's wife.

I loved this book, and read it in one sitting. The characters were funny, sexy, and endearing. They aen't your typical period characters, although the story comes complete with a wicked stepmother and a crazy stepsister. The storyline was fast and intriguing with unexpected twists, and I love it when I can't anticipate exactly what is coming next.

If you wish for a fun and exciting read that will keep you guessing, this books for you.
