The author is proficent at creating characters and writing a flowing plot, but I feel she chose a bad story on which to waste her talent. I couldn't get into it, didn't have that quality that makes you want to turn the page, and the basis of the story left me cold.

Don't get me wrong. I love the mythology behind the Lost City of Atlantis, but without the glossary at the beginning of the book I wouldn't have made it through the first chapter. The story of good and evil souls from a distant past returning to earth in the form of humans to wage their epic battles just left me uninterested and wondering constantly how much longer it would take me to finish it.
