Notorious: Virginia Henley
The daughter of Jory de Beauchamp and friend to Queen Isabelle, spirited and stunningly beautiful Brianna de Beauchamp is betrothed to distinguished Lincoln Robert de Warenne, but she yearns for a deeper passion than she's yet experienced. When Brianna meets dark and dangerous Wolf Mortimer-a man who possesses the Celtic gift of second sight-she finds it impossible not to surrender her body to his fierce desire. And when Wolf's father-the queen's lover, Roger Mortimer-is imprisoned in the Tower of London, Brianna is swept on an adventure that not only puts her heart in peril, but jeopardizes the life of the man who could be her destiny...
After thoroughly enjoying Infamous, the story of Brianna's parents, I couldn't wait to dive in to this book.
Notorious is a perfect follow up to Infamous and flows from where the previous book left off. The author's obvious knack for spinning a tantalizing tale didn't fall apart or change directions, as I see in many sequels. She has created a different feel to this story while carrying over the best elements from the first book, with a gripping plot and interesting, historical characters. It is this ability to spin a new tale while keeping the same basic, story-telling elements, which keeps readers coming back for more every time.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys the historical romance genre, as well as other authors in this arena. Cop a squat and take notes from this author who knows how to do it right.
