1598169467.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpgYoko had a simple life of a teenager in Japan. She was a good student, an ideal daughter, and liked by her peers. Although her red hair set her aside from the rest because of its strangeness for a girl in Japan, she was able to get through day by day easily.

When a strange, golden haired man appears and takes her from school one day -- saying he is her “master” -- her life takes a turn. She suddenly finds herself in a world on the other side of the ocean...rather, through the ocean. Alone with nothing but a sword at her side and a strange beast called a hinman under her skin to help her fight the droves of demons she faces night after night, she must reunite with the golden haired man and discover the reason she was taken into such a world.

Will she keep going, or fall victim to the dangers she faces? Or perhaps she will fall victim to the paranoia quickly taking her over from each betrayal she faces. Only time will tell.

I was very pleased with this book. I could actually relate to the main character (except for being teleported to another world.) Yoko is a character I think many people these days can relate to, and the book proves that nearly any challenge can be overcome.

This book is chocked full of adventure, blood, gore, and mayhem balanced with... more blood and gore! Despite the bloodiness of the novel, altogether it is a very good book. It keeps you turning the page for hours. Yoko’s story is sure to keep you reading on and on -- just be sure you’re not about to get eaten by a stray demon dog in the process!
