The Wolf: Jean Johnson

The Second Son shall know this fate:
He who hunts is not alone
When claw would strike and cut to bone
A chain of Silk shall bind his hand
So Wolf is caught in marriage-band
Wolfer, the second son of the exiled clan of Corvis, is without a doubt the largest and physically strongest of the brothers. He is also quick to anger and faster to act. The only thing helping to control his rage during exile has been a braided band of hair tied around his wrist by his childhood friend, Alys, on the day they left Katan.
Alys has been patiently waiting for her chance to escape her cruel Uncle Broeger. The time has come and she will run to the one person who, even in absence, has never left her heart. But will she be forgiven for the part she played in his torment?
While I enjoyed the second book in the Sons of Destiny series, it didn't quite have the well balanced feel of the first book. It leaned alot more toward the romance than the fantasy and, at one point, lost the thread of the story to all of the rutting between the two main characters.
It did return to the constant torment and invasion by icky little creatures and sets up not only the next book, but the following two books: "The Master", Dominors story, and "The Song", his twin, Evanor's, story.
The best part is that it wasn't until I sat down to write the reveiw that I realized that she had set up the next two books so well that it's all I had been thinking about since I read the last chapter, how I would have to wait a few months for one book, and a few more for the next, to find out what happens. I'm an "instant gratification" type person and very impatient so this will be torture.
