Alex has a unique power no one else has: she can be her own sidekick.
With the amazing power to summon alternate reality versions of herself, she helps the government by summoning the best 'Alex' for the job. So when an ancient sword with one of the last known links to an ancient language becomes stolen, and a economy-threatening virus shows up with a word in the language included, the government decide it's time to call in the big guns.
Will Alex be able to break free from the chains and become her own hero? Or if she does, will it kill her?
I was drawn into the book almost right away. I've always been drawn to the whole 'international spy' type stuff, but never seem to find enough of them. Alex is a likeable character -- immaturity and all -- even the other 'Alex' she summons is very cool.
Overall the book was good though I suppose it irked me how Freemasons were portrayed. I seriously doubt they were into world conquering, child morphing activities. Any left today are pretty much just old plumbers. World domination by toilet? I think not.
Other than that, I truly liked the book. I suggest it to anyone looking for a little spy action!
