Why I Let My Hair Grow Out: Maryrose Wood
When her boyfriend broke up with her, it was the final straw. Taking a pair of scissors in her hand, Morgan not-so-carefully chopped off her hair, striping what was left off the stubble bright orange. She lashed out in the best way she could think of.
However, instead of punishing her and sending her to her room like most parents they decide sending her on a bike tour in Ireland would be more appropriate. There she learns not to wear normal pants while bike riding, twins from Germany can get quite annoying, and that she's a medieval half-goddess. Whoa.
While on her trip of the century, she learns she really has some growing to do, and not just her hair.
A very cute book that I'm sure teens can relate to...well, other than the whole 'going to Ireland and becoming a goddess thing', but you know what I mean.
Everyone has that phase where all they want to do is piss off everyone around them in the best way possible, but when Morgan finds out who -- or what -- she is, she discovers truly how childish she is acting. The book shows that not everyone's perfect, not even an ancient half-goddess!
Morgan's tale is very catching, and I highly suggest it to someone who's out for that little edge of fantasy.
