Devil's sick to, well, hell with hell. He's done with it all, and he needs to find someone to take his place. After his sons failing him miserably, he turns to his three beautiful daughters; Lucia, a hell-born assassin, Jezebel, a computer savvy thief, and the baby of the family, a soul-stealer known as Lola... He must first put them through rigorous tests to see if their worthy of his kingdom... But will they fall to one of the worst human emotions a devil could have?
Lucia's Story: Julie Kenner
Lucia is bored with it all.... Sure, assassination was fun at first, but it kinda got old after the first few thousand years. With her boredom, however, came slacking, and her usually flawless killing began to slip. She stopped killing her marks on time, and sometimes not at all... However, when her Daddy comes to her and tells her that after just one more job she can get a new gig, her previous ambition is restored.
While searching for her latest target though, something, or should I say someone, distracts her...
Foolishly letting herself slip and, quite possibly fall in love with this man called 'Dante', what will she do when she finds out his father is none other then her one way ticket to being the Queen of Hell?
Jezebel's Story: Dee Davis
Jezebel is content with her life. With the amazing ability to find nearly anything with only the use of a computer and an Internet connection, she makes a pretty penny finding things for her clients. When her Father contacts her after her latest job, though, he gives her an offer she can't refuse. All she has to do is find a box and bring it to him... Simple enough... Right?
After meeting up with a past lover, it may prove to be much less simple then she previously thought.
Will she manage to succeed and fulfill her Daddy's wishes? Or will love prove to be too strong for her, as it did her brothers?
Lola's Story: Kathleen O'Reilly
Lola has a fantastic everything. Great looks. Amazing career. Loads of money. The only problem is, in order to keep it all, she has to sleep with a man and thus doing so, steal his soul. That isn't so bad, right? After all, it keeps those pesky one night stands from trying to call you back.
When her father, whom she hadn't heard from quite some time asks for her help she dismisses him with a wave of her hand, or rather, middle finger. When he tells her the reward, that she could keep her beauty for all eternity and never have to pay a dime for it, he perks her interest. She decides to do as he says, and steal the soul of a man who gives good luck to others, but never seems to get any in return.
When she meets this tall stud in person, though, she starts to contradict herself, even as the first wrinkles appear on her forehead...
I actually did like it quite a bit. It had a really nifty story idea, along with well put together plots from all the authors. They were all well-written, and had very appealing descriptions and little quirks. The characters themselves had very cool personalities, all different yet they had the similarities that sisters do.
The only bad thing I have to say about Hell on Heels actually, is the sex... In my strictly personal opinion, there was too much of it too soon... Though, hell, it's a romance, I should have known better.
So yes, other than the almost nonstop sex, it was a very nice well written book. Keep it up girlies!
