Riding the Storm : Sydney Croft
Rating: 4 1/2 stars
Uncle Sam Wants … ex-Navy SEAL Remy Begnaud.
Or, rather, ACRO does … which is just about the same thing.
ACRO has sent parameteorologist/ACRO agent Haley Holmes deep into the Louisiana bayous to seek, find, and – if necessary – seduce Remy Begnaud. Trained in bizarre weather phenomena, Haley has the unique talents necessary to this job … not to mention the killer body and libido. She’s the only one who can possibly come close to handling Remy, a man who can quite literally summon lightning at will.
You see, Remy and Mother Nature have this thing going on … she particularly likes to yank his chain.
If there’s a storm going on, Remy’s going to be in it or it’s going to find him and go to him. Once it finds him, it’s going to escalate – and so is his libido, until it’s uncontrollable. And that storm, and his libido are going to feed off of each other until they both grow out of control, until he’s sated, one way or another. Woe to any female that’s in his way.
Haley must gain his lust (easy) and his trust (not so much) if she has any chance of helping him harness his gift … which isn’t easy, as her dead parents have stepped in and quite literally branded him with her tattoo as a sign that they’re meant to be together, and guess what? He’s in denial.
Then the Russians kidnap them both so that they can use Remy’s powers for their own ends, and things get even more interesting …
Yum. Just … yum.
If you want technical, I’ll say that there are very good descriptions throughout of various weather, especially of hurricanes, tornadoes, etc … and I’m a good authority on that as I live in Louisiana, and I’ve lived in the areas described in this book.
But what it comes down to is …
Go. Read.
