The Darkness Chosen series is started with this fast-paced title and is continued with Touch of Darkness. Just from the beginning pages we are thrust into nothing more than the ordinary day to day activities of a business and find familiar roots in the monotony that is the office. Sure once in a while an office crush happens but in all seriousness who really has the guts to go through with actually telling your boss that you really...no really really...like them? The heroine goes all out and after a few hours being dyed, groomed, and dressed through the 'What not to wear' make-over group, finds herself ready and willing to undergo the biggest decision of her life! She shall tell her boss that she is in love with him and to make sure that he doesn't take no for an answer even if it means losing her job.

The geeky Ann finds herself donning a very revealing gown instead of the usual business suit AFTER breaking into her boss's house! Sure the door was open but the girl has a goal on her mind and will not stop until she gets what she wants and after all, it is just a business call right? As she attempts to again claim her nerves of steel, her seductive posturing and lady-like descent of what mind as well be the Gone with the Wind staircase, she finds out exactly what she has gotten herself into.

Human eyes meet wolf and what does the prey, I mean human do? She flees!!! Bad mistake but oh so hot a tale. And she thought that her boss being a shape-shifting wolf man thing was hard to swallow, just wait until you actually look in to see how deep the rabbit hole goes. Any sensible woman would attempt escape, at least a couple more times, but her love for her boss shall prove that even wolf men mate for life and that she shall be his undoing.

I found myself laughing through every fumble in the tale and truly enjoyed the sarcastic wit about both of the main characters. I mean after all what do you exactly say when you see the man of your dreams turn into a wolf! This title is highly recommended to any who enjoy a more real tone to the supernatural romance and even though the physical romance is extreme, it is not overly done. I await the further trials of the rest of the Wilder family.
