Do Not Open: John Farndon
Do Not Open: A Book Report by Kurt Noll, Age 9
Do Not Open is awesome! It's like an encyclopedia but not all boring and stupid and stuff. It's full of really cool topics like secret societies and codewriting and men in black. There's also a lot of really interesting things I never heard of before, like the Templar Knights, Fibonacci Sequence and alchemy. What's not neat is there's a couple of stupid things, like werewolves versus vampires and the ingredients in a milkshake. Like who cares? But there's only a couple things like that in here, so I guess that's okay.
Another neat thing is every section is linked to other sections of the books. Like, if you read about private eyes, the bottom of the page will direct you to the other sections on spies and eavesdropping and stuff like that. That way, if there's a topic you really like, you can skip all the other stuff and stay with the sections you think are really neat. Not a lot of books let you skip around wherever you want and still make sense, so that's another really cool thing; I can read a couple of pages and not worry about losing my place or wondering what's going to happen next. Oh, I almost forgot: the book also comes with some really neat stickers and one of those doorknob thingees you find in hotels, but instead of 'Do Not Disturb' it says 'Do Not Open.' I have that hanging on my door right now!
I think everybody should read Do Not Open, even my older brother, who's dumb. There's so many different topics that everybody is sure to find something they think is interesting. There's even a couple of sections that make me want to go to the library and find out more about them, like the Nazca Lines and conspiracy theories. I don't even mind getting grounded for hitting my little sister anymore because I get sent to my room, and that means I can re-read Do Not Open. This book is very very very cool and I really like it.
The End.
