Four bestselling paranormal authors come together in First Blood to bring four very diverse tales pulled from their own universes of love and magic.
Suzanne Sizemore's "Cave Canem" takes readers into her Laws of the Blood world and throws together a vampire enforcer and a werewolf witch, with unforeseen consequences.
In "Russian Roulette" by Erin McCarthy Sasha Chechikov finds that her worst danger isn't only slayers; it's vampires working with slayers. Her daring rescue by her captor's ex-husband could lead to a danger of another kind though.
"Double the Bite" by Chris Marie Green shows how the bond between twins may be able to survive the transformation to vampire but some things can never survive the strain when one of those twins wants to go her own way.
Rounding out this group is my personal favorite, Meljean Brooks and her offering "Thicker Than Blood". Vampire Annie Gallagher is desperate to find her human charge, a lost teenager name Cricket. Her help will come from the last person she expects and the only one she ever really loved. Meljean readers will also be pleased to see a familiar face barrel her way through here.
With that being said, though some of the stories may be confusing for those that aren't familiar with the particular worlds and their "rules", on the whole they were well-written and it wasn't hard to enjoy them and to be drawn in. It's a must for fans of all the authors and I'm sure there are some of you out there.
