Lizzie Brown's plans for her 30th birthday included a dinner party at a posh new restaurant and a date with hot Ryan Harmon. They definitely did not include the arrival of her long-lost grandmother with the news that Lizzie is the latest in a long line of demon slayers, and she'd better start with the one perched on her bathroom toilet! Lizzie's grandmother roars away on her Harley with Lizzie and the terrier Pirate clinging on behind, determined the train Lizzie in the life that she was sent away from before it's too late. Lizzie will need all the latent powers she posses though when griffin-turned-hot-and-sexy-cliche... I mean man, Dimitri Kallinikos appears with chores of his own for LIzzie.

It's a cute plot in theory but it's not really any better or worse then the avalanche of cute-but-somewhat-unwilling-girl-becomes-evil-fighter books that have flooded the market. It is simply unexceptional.
