Biting the Bullet: Jennifer Rardin

Rating: 4 stars

18505376.JPGAfter some time apart and a few separate missions Jaz Parks and the gang find themselves back together again, reunited for an undercover mission in the Middle East. They're being assigned to assist her brother David's unit and in the process, uncover a mole that's feeding information to a known global terrorist, The Wizard.

All they have to do is keep each other alive long enough to find the mole and stop the Wizard. How hard can it be?

Did I mention that the Wizard is a necromancer? Oh, and that an army of soul-sucking reavers is attacking the group, bent on revenge?

Between the mole-hunt, the unspoken words that Jaz and David can't say, and Vayl's rekindled obsession over finding his sons the group must find a way to come together before the each lose something dear to them. Surprisingly, Bergman will find his big-boy pants and cowboy up so much that he and Cassandra will all but save the day.

And Jaz, well, Jaz makes a new acquaintance who will give her a lasting gift and she will give him something he very much needed; a reason to keep going.

It seems that Jennifer Rardin keeps hitting them out of the park and she succeeds again this time. Jaz is a likable and understandable heroine who has all the quirks that make the reader able to get inside her head. She just happens to also have a great big gun and otherworldy powers but sometimes don't you wish you did to?
