"Bitches" Take Manhattan

Just when I had written Fox off as hopeless, I find out that they have a new show in the works for 2009 called “Bitches”. Once I stopped laughing, I did a bit of research.

Four women in New York (ala Sex in the City) turn into werewolves – get it? Female dogs…bitches… Although I wonder if the name will make it past the censors, much less certain members of the general public that have giant, uptight poles up their ass; you know, the ones who refuse to let the rest of us have any fun. Just for the record, I am not offended by the title in any way. I have no problem with the word “bitch”. I’m a huge fan of the B Word calendar and celebrate my bitchiness as often as I can. I did notice a few websites and comments complaining about the “offensiveness” of the title. I have to wonder if they’re truly offended or just assume they’re supposed to be. Seriously, people, get over it.

I can’t promise the cheese factor of this show isn’t going to be off the charts, but it’s worth at least a look. The way I see it, this show can either be the saving grace of Fox or it will finally be the rocky bottom of hell that they’ve been careening towards for the past few seasons. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
