Rating: 4 stars (Spotlight Review)
It seems that there's never any downtime when you're the assistant to the CIA's number-one vampire assassin.
Jaz Parks has just wrapped-up the mission to eliminate Edward "the Raptor" Samos, a top-player in the world's supernatural front. Instead of rest and some serious face-time with her vampire beau, Jaz is being sent to Scotland to head-off the coming power surge left in the wake of the Raptor's death. Jaz is being sent with her boss Vayl, their lovesick partner Cole and her father. Yes, Jaz's father is getting back into the action with his little girl.
Now how does a girl tell her father that she's dating a vampire?
This is the fifth book in the Jaz Parks series and Rardin is still going strong. The combination of biting wit and strong action keeps this series on top when many other paranormal series are starting to fall behind. The setting for the plot, in Scotland at a ghost convention made for some especially hysterical scenes. I can also say that these are some of the few books that still make me laugh out loud. That's a rarity anymore and something to be savored. I look forward to more from Ms. Rardin.
