The Telephone Doodle Book: More Than 150 Doodles to Complete...: Andrew Pinder

Rating: 4 stars

The Telephone Doodle Book: Andrew Pinder Although I can't really "review" The Telephone Doodle Book I found it interesting enough to warrant a shout-out. Anybody who has ever called Verizon or god-forbid, the DMV, you know what it's like to sit on hold for a loooonnng time.

If you're like me, your tired of drawing the same triangles, arrows and curly-ques while you wait endlessly to speak to the brainless robot who will eventually take your call. Andrew Pinder had a great idea in putting together a book which creates scenes that practically beg you to push the limits of your doodle-abilities.

For example, on a page depicting the evolution of man, beginning with an ape through the final upright human, who is pot-bellied, shirtless, wearing Bermuda shorts with black socks and sandals. The caveman below asks, "What's next?"

Another of my favorites is a close up of Christmas balls, with the caption reading "Let's decorate these lovely Christmas tree ornaments NICELY", yet they've started you off with Santa hanging from a noose. Ah a book after my own heart.

With more than 150 scenes to complete, from naked animals asking for stripes, to two people peering into a large bowl asking "What is THAT in my soup?" The possibilities are endless; and, if you're creative enough, the laughter will be endless too.
