Alexis spent most of her 18 years feeling like a freak. Navigating the angst-ridden perils of high school is tough enough, but add to that a mother who doesn’t age and a growing arsenal of special powers that occasionally get away from you and things get even tougher.
Constantly moving from place to place, Sophia is unable to divulge any information to her daughter; but does her best to help Alexis get through it. When mother and daughter settle down in a small Florida town, Alexis feels like things will finally be normal—little does she know, things are just getting started.
Beginning her first college semester, Alexis meets the impossibly-gorgeous Tristan Knight. Conscious of her abilities, Alexis tries to hide her true self from Tristan, but a serious accident will reveal the truth about them both.
Complete with a fast-moving, action-packed plot, Promise is not just another “angel” book. Depicting such well-developed and relatable characters, you’ll have no choice but to take up their cause. Alexis and Tristan are not only the perfect combination of good and evil, but one of the hottest couples since Bella and Edward—with Tristan tipping the hotness scales—and they’ll have you on the edge of your seat as you watch their worlds collide.
Kristie Cook has done such a fantastic job. Not only has Ms. Cook created an incredible story, but she uses such beautifully-crafted, flowing prose that makes it literally impossible to stop reading until the last page has been turned.
An amazing debut, Promise sets the stage for what will no doubt be one of the best para-romance/urban fantasy series of the year.
