The Last Stand of Chuck Norris: Ian Spector

Rating: 3 stars

The Last Stand of Chuck Norris: Ian Spector Ah, the memories… It seems like only yesterday I had my first glimpse of an Ian Spector-penned ode to Chuck Norris (Chuck Norris Cannot Be Stopped); but, alas, this déjà vu-induced thought is actually one full year later.

Though I can’t say I like Chuck Norris anymore—or any less for that matter—than previously stated, I still couldn’t resist picking up Ian’s latest collection of ridiculous observations, pseudo-facts and satirical statements:

“When Chuck Norris compares apples to oranges, they are equivalent.”

“LeBron James chose Miami to be near Chuck Norris’ summer home.”

“Chuck Norris does the New York Times crossword puzzle in blood.”

And, just like last time, the silly, sophomoric humor managed to elicit a laugh or two.

The Last Stand of Chuck Norris leaves little doubt that Chuck Norris fans--not to mention legions of Ian Spector fans--will enjoy the latest satirically-spoofy literary adventure even more than before.

However, I couldn’t help but wonder if Mr. Spector will ever get serious and employ that neuroscience degree he worked so hard for. Perhaps write something a bit more productive—something with merit.

Although, I guess it doesn’t really matter if he does. I’ll never read it; that stuff is never funny.
