Torn: Erica O'Rourke Mo Fitzgerald witnessed her best friend’s murder by something not of this world. She knew Verity was hiding something, but she didn’t expect this.

To find answers, and Verity’s killers, Mo will have to enter a magical world and trust the mysterious Luc to keep her safe. While in her own world, she has the strong and brooding Colin watching over her on her uncle’s orders.

When Mo agrees to take Verity’s place and attempt to save not only her world, but the one in between, more secrets begin to mount and so does the danger. With feelings for both Luc and Colin, and the weight of saving two worlds on her shoulders, Mo will have her hands full—but only if she lives.

Torn’s plot is multi-faceted, with magic intersecting the human world in a very plausible way. Having the main character’s family involved in organized crime adds a different and dramatic dimension to the basic supernatural plot line—not to mention having a would-be hero with no innate supernatural powers responsible for saving two worlds.

O’Rourke introduces interesting and well-developed characters that are strong enough to stand on their own; however, when brought together they have an uneasy cohesiveness that gives the story an even more realistic feel.

Mo is a great accidental heroine. Erica O’Rourke did a great job of setting the stage for Tangled, due 2012.
